Doloris Ava Henze, 91, of 418 Washington, Quincy, died at 3 p.m. Sunday (July 13, 2014) in Sunset Home.
Doloris was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Meyer, the daughter of Alva and Hazel Longcor Nichols. She married Roy B. Henze on March 5, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He died on June 22, 2000.
Doloris was a 1940 graduate of Quincy High School. She was secretary for the Moose Lodge for many years until her retirement in 2000.
Doloris was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Illinois Women of the Moose
, the Moose Academy of Friendship and the Moose College of Regents. She was past deputy grand regent and was the star recorder.
Survivors include four children, Lannie (Carol) Henze of LaGrange, Mo., Nikki Miller of Quincy, Bernard (Rita Jo) Henze of Tulsa, Okla., and Rhonda Brassfield of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Scott (Brenda) Henze of Quincy, Steven (Rhonda) Henze of St. Charles, Mo., Tamara (Gary) Grams of Fontana, Wis., Staci Turnbaugh of Quincy, David (Cynthia) Henze of Westhampton, N.J., Sarah Henze of Denver, Colo., Dustin Strothoff of Quincy and Joel Strothoff of Quincy; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Ryan of Lompoc, Calif.
Doloris was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jaymee Hartman, three brothers, and one sister.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Clif Weisinger officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
