Elizabeth Eudene "Jonnie" Weise, 91, of 901 Adams, died at 11 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 16, 2014) in her home.
She was born on June 15, 1922, in Albany, Ky., the daughter of John M. and Versie Hopkins Branham. She was a graduate of Clinton County High School.
She married Maurice C. Weise on Feb. 14, 1942, in Nashville, Tenn. He died on March 26, 1993.
Mrs. Weise settled in Quincy after World War II and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar Society.
She is survived by five children, John Weise and his wife, Florence, of Collinsville, Joseph Weise and his wife, Carolyn, of Quincy, James Weise and his wife, Karen, of Quincy, Libby Naderhoff and her husband, David, of Quincy, and Cathy Kuehl and her husband, Kevin, of Waupaca, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Louise Perry, Gunnery Sgt. Hugh Weise, Maria O'Brien and her husband, Eric, Joseph Weise, Susan Job and her husband, Gabriel, Andrew Weise and his wife, Danielle, Barbra Weise, Joanne Arbogast and her husband, Andrew, Edward Weise and his wife, Jessey, Thomas Weise, and Raina Eston and her husband, Kendrick; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, June Weise of Carlinville; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Schmidt of Quincy, Julius Gavelek of Miami, Fla., and Carvin Tallent of Albany, Ky.; four nieces along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Betty Joyce Branham Tallent.
SERVICES: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
