Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Boland

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Boland, 72, of Hannibal, died Friday (Nov. 30, 2012) in her home.

Betty was born Oct. 26, 1940, in Palmyra, to Lawrence and Christine Bynum Kroeger. She married Tom Boland on June 29, 1992, in Ilasco, Mo. He survives of the home.

She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and later graduated in 1958 from Palmyra High School. Following high school, she attended Quincy Beauty Academy, earning her cosmetology degree.

Betty was a beautician stylist for more than 45 years, retiring in 2000. She owned and operated Betty's Beauty Shop in Palmyra for many years.

Betty was a member of the Hannibal Women's Club as well as the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel, and cherished the time she spent with her loving family. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal.

In addition to her husband, survivors include children, John (Cindy) Ravenscraft of Hannibal, Jill Ravenscraft of Hannibal, Jeri (Bill) Quilling of Palmyra, Kathie (Stel) Pontikes of St. Louis, Mary (Tom) Glancey of Columbus, Ohio, Mike (Linda) Boland of Winnsboro, Texas, and Bobby (Lynn) Boland of Hannibal; grandchildren, Schyler Losson of Hannibal, Kane Mudd of Columbia, Mo., Elizabeth (Jerome) Beguerie of Houston, Taylor and Michelle Glancey of Columbus, Justin Boland of Columbia, Gabbie Wiley of Hannibal, Max, Lydia, and Henry Boland of Hannibal, Shannon Wilson of Monroe City, Andrea Kendrick of Springfield, Mo., and Amy (Adam) Stevens of Pella, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Jacques Beguerie, Johanna Louise Beguerie, Gage Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Andrew Stevens and Summer Stevens; and sisters, Bernadine (Wesley) Carson of Monroe City and Carol Ann (Bob) Porter of St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bud and Sonny Kroeger.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Quinn conducting. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Hannibal.

Casket bearers will be Kane Mudd, Schyler Losson, Stel Pontikes, Tom Glancey, Mike Boland, Bobby Boland, Justin Boland and Taylor Glancey. Honorary bearers will be Bud Janes, Brad McPike, David McGinnis, Jerome Beguerie.

VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

MEMORIALS: Palmyra Nutrition Center.
