LORAINE, Ill. -- Fleta "Juanita" Crouch, 80, of Malabar, Fla., formerly of Loraine, died at 2:48 a.m. Monday (May 26, 2014) in Palm Bay, Fla.
Juanita was born Feb. 6, 1934 in Loraine, a daughter of Thomas Sears and Ethel Maime Booher Owrey. On June 1, 1952, she married Warren Ellis Crouch in Loraine. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2004.
Juanita was a 1952 graduate of Unity High School.
She worked several years at Motorola and was employed for 25 years as a CNA at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Juanita was a collector of stuff: bells, bottles and stuffed animals. Her hobby was bowling, and she would go bowling any time, any place. Her greatest pleasure, joy and pride were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and kitties.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha A. (Steve) Russell of Malabar; a sister, Opal Ruffcorn of Loraine; seven grandchildren, Heather Crouch of Quincy, Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremy (Tamara) Russell of Pensacola, Fla., Luke (girlfriend, Keisha Mangotara) Russell of Jacksonville, Fla., Amanda (fiance, Mike Bryant) Russell of Melbourne, Fla., and Jayme, Joey and Auston Russell, all of Malabar; six great-grandchildren, Marcus Gilbert of Quincy, Abygale Russell and Peter John Arcario, both of Melbourne, Mary Russell and Xandra Capleton, both of Malabar, and Anna Bryant (to be born in September); and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Crouch; two brothers, John David and Merle Owrey; and two sisters, Ida Bell Conover and LaVeta Shaffer.
SERVICES: 1 p.m. Monday, June 2, in Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery.
