Fred Darwin Stark

EWING, Mo. -- Fred Darwin Stark, 74, of Ewing, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 9, 2013) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Darwin was born July 31, 1939, in Maywood, a son of Fred B. and Cleo C. Stewart Stark. He married Darlene Clow on Dec. 24, 1958, at the Ewing Assembly of God Church.

Darwin graduated from Ewing High School in 1958 joining the U.S. Naval Reserves while in school completing his tour of duty on the USS Saratoga in 1960.

Darwin retired after 30 years of service with Moorman Manufacturing Co. At one time, he served the community of Ewing as a volunteer on the R-4 Fire Department.

Darwin's passion was camping, trout fishing and working on small motor repairs.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Stark of Ewing; stepmother Betty Stark of Ewing; three brothers, Clayton (Heidi) Stark of Maywood, Glen (Glenda) Stark of Durham, and Rory Stark of Cougar, Wash.; also several nieces, nephews and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin children, Maurice Ray and Marsena Raschell Stark; and one brother Roger Stark.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, with Rev. Dewayne Larenson officiating. Burial will be in the Ewing Memorial Cemetery with full military honors by Lewis County Memorial Post No. 578.

VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ball Davis Funeral Home.
