URSA, Ill. - Gladys Louise Woodworth, 88, of Ursa, died Monday (Dec. 3, 2012) in North Adams Home in Mendon.
Gladys was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Loraine, a daughter of the late Fred and Lizzie Riddle Mann. She married Chester Woodworth on Sept. 18, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. Chester survives in Ursa.
She attended Loraine schools and graduated from Mendon High School in 1941. Growing up, she was a member of the Loraine Christian Church. She was a member of the Ursa Christian Church, was very active in church functions and helped with the Live Wire Sunday school class. She was a member of the Adams County Home Extension, and she enjoyed crocheting, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Paul (Charlotte) Woodworth of Ursa, Milton (Karen) Woodworth of Ursa and Janice (Dan) Marks of Camp Point; seven grandchildren, Teresa (Darin) VanMeter of Hannibal, Mo., Doug (Kathy) Woodworth of Lima, Dennis Woodworth of Mendon, Holly (Dave) Elsie of Quincy, Darryl Woodworth of Vista, Calif., Paulette (Dr. Mike) Reshack of Chesterfield, Mo., and Tom Miller; three stepgrandchildren, Kevin, Michelle and Danielle, all of Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica and Lauren of Lima, Devin and Noah of Mendon, Courtney and Collin of Quincy, and Wilson of Chesterfield, Mo.; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Josh of Hannibal, Hunter, Ashten, Summer, Rachel, Gary and Naomi, all of Arkansas; 16 nieces; and 11 nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Meyer; six brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; five nephews; and three nieces.
SERVICES: 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with the Rev. Linda Hunsaker conducting. Burial will be New Providence Cemetery in Ursa.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Ursa Christian Church, North Adams Historical Society or North Adams Home.
