Glenn Albert Nelson, 82, of Quincy, died at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.
Glenn was born on Oct. 12, 1931, in Canton, Mo., a son of Carl Ander and Wilhelmine Luetkehans Nelson. He was married to Wilda Thorington on Aug. 4, 1951, in Lewis County, Mo. She survives.
Glenn was a 1949 graduate of Palmyra (Mo.) High School. He attended Westminster College.
He was employed by Motorola Inc. for 25 years as a foreman. He later worked for Gardner-Denver, Harris and Pinkerton Inc.
In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by three children, Wilma (Dave) Theobald of Bloomington, Richard (Kathy) Nelson of Quincy and April Nelson of Quincy; four grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Miller, Bryant (Deanna) Theobald, and Sarah and Elizabeth Nelson; and four great-grandchildren, Braeden Miller, Keagan Theobald, Emersen Theobald and Asher Theobald.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stanley and Carl Allen Nelson.
SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Hayden conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
