James A. "Artie" Cookson

CAMP POINT, Ill. -- James Arthur "Artie" Cookson, 68, of Camp Point, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2014) in his home in Camp Point.

Born Jan. 16, 1946, in Quincy, Artie was a son of Everett "Jigs" and Gladys Rostron Cookson.

Artie had been employed at Motorola in Quincy for several years and later worked for Central School District No. 3 until his retirement.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cookson is survived by numerous cousins and friends, and a special friend, Kenzie Brocksieck (Aaron) of Camp Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.

VISITATION: 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Camp Point United Methodist Church.
