PALMYRA, Mo. -- Jeanne R. Henderson, 67, of Palmyra, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday (March 28, 2014) at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
She was born Aug. 21, 1946 in Macomb, Ill., to Joe and Mary Black Solter.
Jeanne married Sam Henderson Sept. 4, 1964 at Lewistown Methodist Church, Lewistown, Mo.
She was a 1964 graduate of Lewistown (Mo.) High School and worked for Cason, Huff, & Schlueter Insurance Co. in Quincy, Ill., for more than 20 years.
Jeanne enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sport and 4-H activities. She loved going barefoot and Cardinals baseball.
She was very active in the LaGrange Methodist Church functions until her health prevented her from working. She was a member of First Christian Church in Palmyra.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Sam; a son, Mike (Debbi) Henderson of LaGrange; a daughter, Kelly (Fred) Miller of Taylor; grandchildren, Courtney (friend, Austin Roberts) Miller, Justin Miller and Nathan and Jared Henderson; sisters, Jo (Stan) Mularz of Davenport, Iowa, Elaine (Gene) Holbert of Canton, and Sue (Paul) Johnson of Troy; a brother, Bob (Betty) Solter of Canton; many nieces and nephews; an aunt, Pearl Washburn of Keokuk, Iowa; an uncle, Bruce Solter of LaGrange, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, and a special niece, Becky Scott.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra with the Rev. Drew Sutor conducting. Honorary bearers are Courtney and Justin Miller and Nathan and Jared Henderson, and Austin Roberts.
VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
