MAYWOOD, Mo. -- Jeri L. Rees, 64, of Maywood, died on Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2014) in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
She was born on July 25, 1949, in Quincy, a daughter of Charles W. and Jacqueline Hessing Davis. She married Ronald Rees on March 30, 1968. He survives.
Jeri was of the Protestant faith.
Mrs. Rees was a cook at the former St. Mary Hospital in Quincy. She owned and operated the Whistle Stop Restaurant in Lewistown. For years she also helped with the concessions at Davis auctions.
Jeri loved crafts and ceramics.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her mother, Jacqueline Davis of Quincy; two children, Angela Gatton and her husband, Jason, of Burlington, Iowa, and Rhonda Freeman of Canton; three grandchildren, Drake Rees, Shyanne and Dakota Freeman; one brother, Michael Davis and his wife, Angela, of Scott City; and one sister, Diana Reis and her husband, Daniel, of Quincy; and numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Jeri was preceded in death by her father.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, with the Rev. Steve Disseler conducting. Interment will be at a later date in Maywood Cemetery.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
