Jimmie DeWitt

Jimmie DeWitt, 80, of 1523 Chestnut, died Thursday (March 27, 2014) in the Blessing Hospital emergency room.

He was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Roseville, a son of Jim and Nellie Mounds DeWitt. He married Norma Patterson on Dec. 17, 1977. She survives.

Jimmie worked at Central Welding Supply and later S.J. Smith for more than 50 years until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army.

Jimmie liked to hunt and fish. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Nick DeWitt, Jamie DeWitt and Vince DeWitt; and two stepchildren, Clarissa Nebe and Melissa Shoop and her husband, Jerry. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. graveside Wednesday in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services.
