WARSAW, ILL. -- Lorine Marie Meyersick, 95, formerly of the Sutter and Warsaw areas, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 4, 2014) in the Montebello Health Care Center, Hamilton.
She was born March 3, 1918, in Wythe Township, a daughter of Samuel and Olga Elizabeth Satory Jacobs. She married Ralph Carl Meyersick on March 8, 1939, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died April 4, 2002.
Lorine attended Orange School, east of Sutter, and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1935. Lorine and her husband farmed in Wythe Township for all but the first few of their 62 years together. She was an active lifelong member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Sutter, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Her faith and family were foremost in her life. She also loved to crochet and quilt. She had a "green thumb" and enjoyed growing flowers and plants.
Survivors include one daughter, Carlene (Ron) Maag of Warsaw; two sons, Lowell (Janet) Meyersick of Warsaw, and Dean (Joyce) Meyersick of Augusta; six grandchildren, Douglas Maag of Kansas City, Kan., Kevin (Vickie) Maag of Warsaw, Robin (Mark) Wellman of Quincy, Nicole (Alan Jenkins) Meyersick of Warsaw, Wendy (Shannon) Walker of Quincy and Melissa (John) Greenwood of Clarence, Mo.; 11 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Vera Royce of Nauvoo, and Awanda Koehler of Warsaw.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Zella Wollbrink; and a brother, the Rev. Robert Jacobs.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Sutter, with Pastor Roy Paterik conducting. Burial will be in Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
VISITATION: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
