Lucille Reische

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. -- Alberta Lucille Reische, 96, of Brown County, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday (March 5, 2014) in Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mount Sterling. She was born Feb. 1, 1918, in Cooperstown Township in Brown County, a daughter of Maine "Pete" and Edna Lora Brown Perry. She married Seldon Reische on June 19, 1937. He died on March 19, 1982.

Lucille and her husband lived on a farm east of Hersman for more than 70 years. She helped with the farm, gardening, and especially loved taking care of the yard. She enjoyed her family and friends and especially loved to babysit with family and the neighbor kids.

Lucille was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Sterling for more than 62 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher and deaconess for many years. She was also a member of her church's search committee, pastoral relations committee and helped with Awanas and Bible school.

Survivors include two children, Helen (Bob) Thomas of Quincy and Lloyd (Thelma) Reische of rural Hersman; grandchildren, Brad Christy, Mike (Deb) Christy, Bruce Christy, Nathan Reische, Jamie Tepker, Shelli (Steve) Reich, and Todd (Minnie) Reische; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Lucille, Sam and Sarah Christy, Brandy (Lance) Hutzler and Brooke Christy, Bridget, Landon and Luci Jo Reich; and one great-great-grandchild, Brantley Hutzler. Lucille also is survived by a daughter-in-law, Linda Reische; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; a son, James Richard Reische; a brother, Henry Perry; and a sister, Dorothy Bennett.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Aaron Foster conducting. Burial will be in Hersman Cemetery.

VISITATION: Noon until the time of services on Sunday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church of Mount Sterling, Huntington Disease Society of America, Shriner's Hospitals for Children or Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care Activity Fund.
