Marcy Cutrone died Monday (Jan. 20, 2014) at home in Suwanee, Ga.
Over a period of six years, her health declined steadily during which she had many painful moments but throughout continued to maintain her happy smile. She died peacefully in her sleep.
Marcy's outgoing, optimistic personality connected easily with everyone she met. She had a way of finding the best in everything with joy and laughter. In Quincy, she was involved with Quincy University, the various arts and musical societies of the city, and was also a Realtor. In Mobile, Ala., she worked on the staff of Spring Hill College. For two years she was administrator of the semester abroad program of Spring Hill College in Venice and Rome.
She and her husband, Manny, retired to Atlanta enjoying travel as long as possible.
Marcy was born in Medford, Wis., the first of six children of Raymond and Dorothy Hrdina.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Hrdina; a son, David Showalter; and a daughter, Carole Webster.
Her surviving children are Kathleen Greve, Julie Wallen, Mary Showalter, Eileen Sawyer, Thomas Cutrone, and Joseph Cutrone; her sisters are Marlene Schneider and Dolores Hrdina; brothers, Mark Hrdina and Tom Hrdina. There are 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 11045 Parson Road, Duluth, Ga.
VISITATION: Sunday in SouthCare Funeral Society, 2260 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta, Ga.
