Margaret Ann Specht White, 75, formerly of 1525 Lew Court in Quincy, passed away on Monday (Oct. 14, 2013) in Sycamore Healthcare Centre.
She was born on March 8, 1938, in Quincy, a daughter of Harvey and Rachel Phillips Specht. She married Lawrence White of Carthage on July 2, 1966, in Union United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Margaret worked at Methodist Sunset Home for 25 years as an aide. She was a volunteer of RSVP at the Veterans Home along with her husband.
She was a member of Union United Methodist Church her whole life.
Margaret collected dolls and loved reading. Margaret loved her pets, especially her dog Chiki and her granddog, Snowy.
Margaret was a very kind soul, always volunteering her time taking care of and serving others. She will be gravely missed by her family, son, daughter-in-law and Snowy. Margaret had a beautiful smile that was very infectious and had a heart of gold.
She is survived by one son, Sean White and his wife, Erika, of Quincy; and seven siblings, Paul Specht and his wife, Carolyn, of Midwest City, Okla., Phillip Specht and his wife, Madeline, of Miami, Fla., Carol Kropp of Fort Madison, Iowa, David Specht and his wife, Julia, of LaGrange, Mo., Roy Specht and his wife, Barbara, of Quincy, Frank Specht and his wife, Karen, of Quincy and Harold Specht and his wife, Sandy, also of Quincy.
In addition to her husband, Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Rachel Specht; a brother, Earl Specht; and a daughter, Denise White in infancy.
SERVICES: 1 p.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: Noon Friday until the time of services in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Union United Methodist Church.
