Marilyn M. Griffith

Miss Marilyn M. Griffith, 90, of the St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 639 York, died at 12:35 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013) in St. Vincent's Home.

Born Feb. 13, 1923, in Keokuk, Iowa, Marilyn was a daughter of Marion "Jack" and Helen Gavin Griffith.

Marilyn was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed bingo and sightseeing bus trips through the Senior Citizens Center. Marilyn also loved cats, having many as pets over the years.

Survivors include two sisters, Norma Ames and Shirley Caine, both of Quincy; a sister-in-law, Sarah Griffith of Quincy; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Mehl of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Paul Griffith, Bill Griffith, Charles Griffith, Thomas Griffith and James Griffith; a sister, Patricia Mehl; and her longtime companion, Maurice "Prod" Kindhart.

SERVICES: 2:15 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Kuse conducting.

VISITATION: 1-2 p.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, Quincy.

MEMORIALS: Quincy Humane Society or the Blessing Cancer Center.
