Mary M. Gramke, 89, of 1301 Maple St., died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday (March 9, 2014) in Good Samaritan Home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Hull, a daughter of Alva and Fannie Kincade Wright. She married E. John Gramke on March 9, 1978, in Quincy. He died Jan. 17, 1996.
Mrs. Gramke was a 1938 graduate of Hull Public School. She worked as an inspector for Motorola in Quincy, retiring after 20 years of service.
She was a member of Union United Methodist Church.
Mary loved going to garage sales. She played cards and enjoyed daily bingo at Good Samaritan Home. She also liked trips to the casino in LaGrange.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy J. Sprague, and her husband, Larry, of Quincy; stepsons, John E. Gramke of Sparta, Kan., Stan Gramke and his wife, Mary, of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Jerry (Shelly) Gramke of Arlington, Tenn.; grandchildren, Larry W. Sprague, Landon S. (April) Sprague and Christopher (Betty) Sprague, all of Quincy; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Korte, Natalie Sprague, Landon Sprague Jr. and Jackie Sprague; and stepgrandchildren, Justin Gramke, Seth Gramke and Matthew Gramke. Several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband, John, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Alva Wright, Gary Wright, Alfred Wright and Lonnie Wright; seven sisters, Leola Gallaher, Dorothy Anderson, Leila Gully, Rosalie Wright, Hazel Wright, Marjorie Wright and Fannie Scott; and a nephew, Robert Wright.
SERVICES: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Akers Chapel Cemetery.
VISITATION: 1:30 p.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
