Mildred M. Zehnle

Mildred M. Zehnle, 94, of Sunset Home, formerly of 301 N. Eighth St., Quincy, died Thursday (April 3, 2014) in Sunset Home.

She was born March 8, 1920, in Quincy, a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Vogel) Terwelp. She married George Arthur "Art" Zehnle on Dec. 30, 1941. He preceded her in death.

Mildred was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church.

She worked as a secretary for Celotex until her retirement. Mildred enjoyed volunteering for Blessing Hospital, the and was involved with Cursillo.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Reckers, and her husband, Robert, of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Ronald Zehnle, Christine Zehnle, the Rev. Daren Zehnle, David and Angela Zehnle, Robert S. and Darcie Reckers, Denise A. and Matt Poepping and Daniel Reckers; two great-grandchildren, Lindy Hahn and Matthew Zehnle; and one great-great-grandson, Leo Hahn.

In addition to her husband, Arthur, Mildred was preceded in death by a son, George William Zehnle; two grandchildren, Matthew Zehnle and Brian Reckers; and two sisters, Lucille Dietrich and Kathryn Behrensmeyer.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

VISITATION: 3 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home.
