Pauline M. Degerlia, 86, of 111 E. Waterford, Quincy, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2014) in St. Vincent Home.
Pauline was born April 23, 1927, in Hannibal, Mo., a daughter of Oris and Fern McKee Mullenix. She married Charles Degerlia on Aug. 22, 1947, in Hannibal. He survives.
Pauline was a 1945 graduate of Hannibal High School. She worked for her entire career as a civilian contractor with the United States Air Force. She and Charles loved to travel, and they took a lot of vacations together. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed going antiquing. She had a real eye for things of beauty, especially items depicting butterflies. Pauline will always be remembered for her extreme generosity.
In addition to her loving and dedicated husband, survivors include two sisters, Norma (Don) Beilsmith of Hannibal and Fern Schenck of Bettendorf, Iowa; a brother, Ray (Toni) Mullenix of Davenport, Iowa; four nephews, Wayne "Chuck" Mullenix, Dan Beilsmith, David Beilsmith and Terry Schenck; and three nieces, Teresa Schenck, Denise Beilsmith and Lori Pedersen.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; a twin brother, Paul, at birth; and two brothers, Dale Mullenix and Woodrow "Mac" Hammock.
SERVICES: 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Wentzel officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
VISITATION: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
