Robert A. Godman

Robert A. Godman, 81, of Quincy, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday (April 3, 2014) in the Good Samaritan Home.

Born Sept. 16, 1932, in Macomb, he was a son of Cecil and Florence Richmond Godman. He married Muriel McFarland on May 22, 1954, in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Godman served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He attended Mendon Congregational Church and was a member of the Met Life Honor Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, square dancing and traveling throughout the United States, but his greatest joy was the time he spent working on his farm.

Mr. Godman had a long and distinguished career as a representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., serving the Quincy area.

In addition to his wife, Muriel, survivors include his daughter, Teresa L. Godman, of Quincy and a brother, Gary Godman (Blenda), of St. Peters, Mo.

Mr. Godman was preceded in death by his parents.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Monday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gartung conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 3 to 5 p.m. today and until time of services Monday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Mendon Congregational Church.
