HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Robert "Bob" Laverne Dougherty, 45, of Palmyra, formerly of Hannibal, died at 5:56 p.m. Thursday (June 27, 2013) in Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Bob was born Aug. 6, 1967, in Fort Hood, Texas to Paul and Pauline Wock Dougherty.
Mr. Dougherty worked as a maintenance technician for KBR at BASF.
He loved spending time with his son, who was his whole world. He also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and loved his Jeep. Bob was loved by everybody and will be missed. He also knew how to take a good joke.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Pauline Dougherty of Hannibal; one son, Terry Dougherty of the home; one brother, Tony Dougherty (Kate); and nieces and nephew, Olivia, Elliot and Ella.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dougherty and Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Wock; one uncle, Pat Dougherty; and one aunt, Jane King.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church, Hannibal. The Rev. Mike Quinn will conduct. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal.
Pallbearers will be James Spratt, Aaron Poage, Jason Poage, Shad Metcalf, Shannon Bishop and Randy Wells.
VISITATION: 2 TO 4 p.m. Sunday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal.
MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to the "Terry Dougherty Education Fund" for Bob's son, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
