Roberta "Bobbie" traber

Mrs. Roberta "Bobbie" Traber, 67, of Quincy, died at 3:14 a.m. Wednesday (May 1, 2013) in the home of her daughter, Laura.

Born Nov. 8, 1945, in Green Bay, Wis., Roberta was the daughter of Wilbur Joseph and Leola Mabel Daniels VanderLinden. She married Harvie H. Traber on Dec. 21, 1996, in Phoenix. He died Sept. 16, 2000.

Bobbie was a member of The Crossing where she enjoyed making cards and helping with the Kindergarten Sunday school class. She loved helping others by volunteering at the Quincy Public Library and the Hospitality House. Bobbie was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Mrs. Traber was employed as an occupational therapy assistant for 26 years in Arizona. She retired in 1999 and moved to Quincy to be closer to her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Sheets (Terry) and Laura Horak (Jonathan), both of Quincy; four grandchildren, Ashleigh Howerton (Camden Poole) of Springfield, Richard Maxwell Lynch (fiancee, Kelsee Benner), Jonathan Tyler Horak and Gabriel Lee Horak, all of Quincy; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Grace Lynch, of Quincy; three stepgrandchildren, Terry Robert Sheets Jr., Jesse Ray Sheets and Brittany Scheiter; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Brooklyn Rae Sheets; two brothers, Tom VanderLinden (Kelly) of Florida and Terry VanderLinden (Diane) of Green Bay; three sisters, Julie Rosenau and Jan Strei (Al), both of Green Bay, and Jennifer Brown of Mesa, Ariz.; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, including Wally Daniels (Sally).

In addition to her husband, Harvie, Mrs. Traber was preceded in death by her parents.

Bobbie's family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at Blessing Home Care, especially Amanda and Linda, and to the staff of Blessing Hospice, especially Christie and Joanie, for the excellent and loving care provided to Roberta and her family over the past several months.

SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be 5 p.m. Friday in The Crossing, 48th and Maine, with Pastor Randy Drish conducting.

VISITATION: Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will meet with friends from 4 p.m. until time of services Friday in The Crossing.
