CLARKSVILLE, Mo. -- Rodney Z. Nutt, 73, of Springfield, died at 12:46 p.m. Friday (April 27, 2013) in his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1939, a son of James Dixon and Ina Margaret Hartsock Nutt in Clarksville.
Rodney married Jane K. Goveia on May 21, 1962. She died on April 30, 2003.
Rodney was a member of the Anchor Boat Club. He enjoyed gambling, horseshoes, hunting, bowling, woodwork and throwing darts, and was an avid Illini and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Rodney retired from the city of Springfield Street Department and had also worked for Tri-State Floral.
Survivors include his son, Troy Nutt of Springfield; mother-in-law, Jeanette Goveia of Springfield; three sisters, Roberta Gutherie, Jayma (William) Arnold, and Cindy (Milton) Willingham all of Quincy; five brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Nutt of Quincy, Gary (Lorraine) Nutt of Springfield, Larry Michael Nutt of Quincy, Dennis (Gerri) Nutt of Tracey, Calif., and Randy (Linda) Nutt of Quincy; one aunt, Loretta Hartsock of Louisiana, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his niece, Kim Pearce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Christopher and Todd Nutt; three sisters, Marcia Hale, Vicki Cole and Karen Hunolt; and two brothers, Kerri and Donald Nutt.
SERVICES: Noon Tuesday in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield conducted by the Rev. Terry Dowds. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the funeral home.
