Selma E. Berry

Selma E. Berry, 79, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Abilene, Kan., and Quincy, died Wednesday (March 5, 2014) in the Sandpiper Bay Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita.

She was born June 6, 1934, in Quincy, a daughter of John and Irene Peters Meyer.

Selma graduated high school in Quincy.

Selma worked for Motorola in the Quincy area until her marriage to Thomas Berry on June 25, 1960. She was then a para-professional for the Ramona Unified School District in Ramona, Calif., and was a mother and homemaker. Selma also enjoyed growing beautiful flowers in her flower gardens.

She is survived by her loving husband Tom, of the home; sons, Brad and his wife, Joanna Berry, of Abilene, and Dennis and his wife, Connie Berry, of Quincy; daughter, Denise Corner of Wichita; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew Catholic Church in Abilene, with the Rev. Henry Baxa as celebrant. Selma's final resting place is in the Mount St. Joseph Cemetery near Abilene.
