Shirley Ann Schwartz

LIBERTY, Ill. -- Shirley Ann Schwartz, 75, of Liberty, died at 3:33 a.m. Sunday (April 13, 2014), in her home with her family present by her side.

Shirley was born on April 19, 1938, in Quincy, the daughter of Wilber and Virginia Doss Fischer. She married Robert "Bob" Carl Schwartz on April 27, 1957. He survives in Liberty.

Shirley was a homemaker, farm wife, and provided home health care for nearly 10 years. She was active in square dancing and was a member of the Liberty Bells and Beaus and Quincy Silver Dollars. She loved gardening and growing flowers and excelled in cooking. She always had active sewing projects.

She was a member of Women's Aglow and The Crossing Church in Quincy and had for the last four years acted as part of the prayer ministry for The Crossing at Curtis Creek Retirement Home.

Including her husband, Shirley is survived by two sons, Steven R. Schwartz of Carmel, Ind., and David R. (Randi) Schwartz of Quincy; four grandchildren, Tim D. (Cari) Schwartz of Metamora,Travis A. Schwartz of St. Louis, Tyler S. Schwartz of Carmel, and Austin M. Schwartz of West Lafayette, Ind.; a stepgranddaughter, Katie L. Barry; and three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Richard W. (Jolene) Fischer of Quincy; and a sister, Nancy Parish of Quincy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Raymond King; her infant son, Timothy C. Schwartz; and infant triplet great-grandchildren, Ella, Emma and Oliver Schwartz.

SERVICES: 6 p.m. Thursday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Harris officiating.

VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, Shirley's family suggests that memorial donations be made to UnityPoint Hospice Care.
