Thomas A. Herrington, 69, of 1020 Monroe, Quincy, died at 12:25 a.m. Friday (March 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.
Thomas was born April 2, 1944, in Quincy, a son of Carl and Gladys Feld Herrington. He married Natalyn Kay Henderson on July 28, 1970, in Taylor, Mo. She survives.
Thomas had been employed by Motorola, Klaus Radio, and Richards Electric, from where he retired after working more than 20 years as an inside salesman.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War
In his spare time, he enjoyed sports, especially golfing and playing baseball, softball and basketball.
Thomas will always be remembered as a jokester who loved making other people laugh. Most of all, he was a proud grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Julie (Mark) Bichsel of Quincy; his son, Steve Lockett of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Joshua (Jenna), Tucker, and Delaney Bichsel, and Levi, Summer, and Alexis Lockett, all of Quincy; a sister, Joan (Bill) Heckenkamp of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Herman; and a niece, Lesa Williams.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Arambasich, OFM, conducting. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post #37.
VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: The Wounded Warrior Project or Blessing Hospice.
