CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Wayne Fecht, 75, of Carthage, died at 6 a.m. Friday (March 22, 2013) in his home.
He was born June 9, 1937, a son of Wilfred and Arline Huls Fecht on the family farm in rural Carthage. On Oct. 26, 1958, he married Audrey M. Rothert in the Methodist church in Carthage. She died in 2005. They were married more than 47 years.
Wayne graduated from Carthage High School in 1956. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Carthage and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage. He had served on the church council at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He loved horses and was a member of the Bentley Saddle Club. He was well-known for his carriage rides at special events in the area, including parades, weddings and prom. Wayne was a life-long grain and livestock farmer in the Carthage area.
He is survived by four children, Jerry (Lynn) Fecht of Carthage, Mark (April) Fecht of Naperville, Debbie (Donnie) Limkemann of West Point and Dean (Angie) Fecht of Carthage; 10 grandchildren, Kyle (Jenna), Brandy and Kelum Fecht, Jeremy, Rachael and Elizabeth Fecht, Danielle (Marc) Corcoran, Dustin and Dakota Limkemann, and Kirby Fecht; his mother, Arline Fecht, of Carthage; a sister, Donna (Gary) Eilers, of Keokuk, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Terry Fecht, of Carthage; and friends, Dyannr Miller and Larry Vance, both of Carthage.
In addition to his wife, Audrey, he was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred; a brother, Norman; and an infant sister.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Carthage. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
VISITATION: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the church.
