William Timothy "Bill" Spake

William Timothy "Bill" Spake, 85, of Quincy, succumbed to the processes of Alzheimer's at his residence at Sunset Home overlooking his lifelong family business, Comstock-Castle Stove Co. He was with family upon his passing on Oct. 17, 2013.

Bill was a passionate man who enjoyed traveling extensively and exercising his body and brain through work and activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking and tennis, along with playing gin rummy and bridge and completing daily crossword puzzles.

He was president of Comstock-Castle Stove Co. in Quincy from 1966 through 1998 and remained active as corporate secretary and with inventory control until 2010.

Bill served on the board of directors of Cheerful Home, St. John's Episcopal Church and Quanda. He was a member of the Quincy Country Club and was active with Quincy Optimist Club and Junior Achievement.

Bill is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Joanne, of Tucson, Ariz.; and sons Tim, John and Curtis (wife Cynthia) Spake, as well as his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Andrew and Noah Spake, and great-granddaughter, Everleigh Spake, all of Quincy.

SERVICES: Services will be private.
