To the Family of Dr. Rapp:
I was sorry to read of your loss. You must be pleased to know that he was loved and well respected. Reading about the many years he dedicated to medicine shows his sincere interest in wanting to help people. I find it comforting to know that God takes note of the good in us and he promises to keep such ones in his memory in order to give them back to us. (John 5:28, 29) I hope you find comfort in this promise.

Dad so loved the "practice" of medicine and never sought recognition for his many accomplishments. He approached his job with such humility and gratitude. He was totally dedicated to his patients and our vacations were always limited because he didn't want to leave those who he served.
Thank you to the Illinois Academy for your condolences and the recognition you gave him in 2004. He was so proud and we are proud of the wonderful care he gave to so many people, including his children.
Attached is a photo of my daughter, Michelle, holding the newspaper where he is on the front page of the Herald-Whig when he was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award. Again, thank you.

On behalf of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, our condolences to the Rapp family on the passing of Dr. Roy Rapp. IAFP was proud to award Dr. Rapp with the 2004 Distinguished Service Award. I was honored to be there and was enthralled by stories about Dr. Roy and Mrs. Lucille Rapp. What a wonderful legacy they have left for Quincy! May God bless the Rapp family.
