Nelda J. Stepities

Nelda J. Stepities , 86, of the St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 1029 N. 13th, Quincy, died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday (May 10, 2011) in St. Vincent's Home.

Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Table Grove, Nelda was a daughter of Sterling and Ruth Hendee White.

Nelda enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was employed at Motorola and then as a licensed practical nurse at Blessing Hospital and the Illinois Veterans Home until her retirement.

Survivors include three sons, Neil Taylor (Sharen), Lyle Taylor (Beverly) and Tom Graham, all of Quincy; four grandchildren, Kimberly Cognasso (John) of St. Louis, Greg Taylor (Angie Gill) of Franklin, Ind., Mike Taylor of Quincy and Angie Spangler (B.J.) of Quincy; four great-grandchildren, Tony Cognasso (Shawna), Nick Cognasso, Kolton Spangler and Ian Taylor; a great-great-granddaughter, Jaelyn Cognasso; a sister, Dorothy McIntyre of Longmont, Colo.; two brothers, Sterling M. White (Jane) of Medicine Bow, Wyo., and Marvin White (Joan) of Table Grove; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

VISITATION: 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: St. Vincent's Home.
