D. Wuestenfeld Obituary

D. Kay Wuestenfeld, 57, of 3328 Harmony Hill, died at 4:33 a.m. Tuesday (May 10, 2011), in her home.

Kay was born on April 24, 1954, in Quincy, the daughter of Dale and Mary Hibbard Wuestenfeld.

Kay was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and the Gem City Business College.

She was employed by Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Co. and First Impressions Preschool. Since 1997, Kay has worked at the Blessing Child Care Center, where she served food to the children. Kay loved working with children and especially liked seeing their smiles when they learned something new.

Kay was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Trinity Evening Guild, the Chancel Choir and the Junior Women's Group.

Kay enjoyed scrapbooking, watching TV, walking and playing Phase 10 and dominoes. Kay loved her family. She cherished time spent with family members and enjoyed traveling across the country with her parents to visit her brother in Texas.

Survivors include her parents, Dale and Mary Wuestenfeld of Quincy; two brothers, Robert (Karen) Wuestenfeld of Quincy, and Kenneth Wuestenfeld of Sherman, Texas; five nieces and nephews, Lee, Kent, Joe and Jamie Wuestenfeld, and Kelly Garnett; five great-nieces and great-nephews; two uncles, Eldon (Sally) Hibbard and Glen (Barbara) Wuestenfeld; an aunt, Sally (Robert) Bross; and numerous cousins.

Kay was preceded in death by a brother, David Wuestenfeld.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Timothy A. White conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Blessing Child Care Center or Trinity United Church of Christ
