Carolyn Bernice Mallory, 72, of Quincy, formerly of Palmyra, Mo., died Sunday (Sept. 22, 2013) in the Sycamore Healthcare Centre. Carolyn was born April 18, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo., to Lincoln Edward and Ellen Louise Wilkerson Johnson. Carolyn was married to Kent L. Mallory and to that union four loving children survive, Sonya Mallory of Quincy, Annice Mallory of Quincy, Paul Mallory of Quincy and Miracle Mallory of Quincy. Mrs. Mallory was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Motorola in Quincy. She was a 1958 graduate of Palmyra High School and later attended Westminster College in Kansas City, Mo. Carolyn loved reading Bible passages, cooking and cross stitching, and especially loved spending time with her children. She was a member of Park Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Shirley (Duane) Palmer of Quincy; and a brother, Alvin Johnson of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Eugene Edwards and Richard Johnson and infant Louis Steven Johnson. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday in Park Chapel Baptist Church, Palmyra, with the Rev. Jeff Green conducting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Palmyra. Casketbearers will be Lucius Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Duane Palmer Jr., Jermaine Palmer, Alvin Palmer and Jeff Mundy. VISITATION: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
