BURLINGTON, Iowa -- Charlotte Ann Redmon, 80, of Burlington, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2014) at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.

Born June 29, 1933, in Wapello, she was a daughter of Charles Wesley and Sadie Ann Minor Schultz. On April 14, 1979, she married Sharel L. Redmon in Burlington. He died Dec. 27, 2012.

Charlotte was a homemaker.

She was a graduate of Burlington High School. She attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.

She was a member of LaGrange (Mo.) Christian Church. Since moving back to Burlington, she attended Parkside First Baptist Church with her daughters. She was very active in Christian Women's Club. She taught Sunday school for many years. Charlotte loved Jesus and shared that love with many people. She read the Bible daily, and she believed in the power of prayer. She loved crosswords and her Russell Stover chocolates. Her biggest enjoyment was her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Rae Ann (Rennie) Ludens of Burlington and Deb (Lyle) Massner of Morning Sun; one son, Wally (Elaine) Brown of Milaca, Minn; two stepsons, Chris (Marsha) Redmon of Kirksville, Mo., and Craig (Brenda) Redmon of Canton; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Ludens, Amber Ludens, Luke Massner, Derrick Brown, Taryn Brown, Elizabeth (Greg) Altapeter, Kathleen (Damien) Nuebling, Thomas Redmon, Audrey (Luke) Barton and Andrew Redmon; six great-grandchildren, Lance Ludens, Graysen Ludens, Dominic Altapeter, Agatha Altapeter, Isabella Barton and Bailey Nuebling; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Helen Brown, Sara Pealer, Frances Sarnes, Mary Walsinger and Nellie Cross; and one brother, James Schultz.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Monday in the Parkside First Baptist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Marshall Jackman officiating. Burial will be in Wapello (Iowa) Cemetery.

VISITATION: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday in the Thielen Funeral Home, 3940 Division St., Burlington. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday in the Parkside First Baptist Church.
