GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. -- Donald M. Hull, 83, of Griggsville, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2012) at his residence. He was born Oct. 13, 1929, in New Salem, the son of Pearl and Wilma Friesland Hull. He married Beulah Robbins on April 17, 1949, in Griggsville and she survives. Mr. Hull served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army and was a member of Griggsville Christian Church. He volunteered his time as an EMT and Scout leader for 13 years and also served as treasurer of Perry American Legion Post 1040 and Griggsville Township Road Commissioner for 28 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by one son, Wendall (Rebecca) Hull of Griggsville; two grandchildren, Melissa (Josh) Ward of Mount Sterling, and Bradley (Joni) Hull of Quincy; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Logan, both of Mount Sterling; one brother, George (Ruth Ann) Hull of Jacksonville; one sister, Margie (Richard) Hickman of Wolf Creek, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Pearl, Howard and Russell Hull; and one sister, Waunita Hull. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Griggsville, with burial at Griggsville Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be given by Perry American Legion Post 1040.
