Donald R. Durbin Sr. Obituary
Donald R. Durbin Sr., 81, of Quincy, died at 12:08 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Born Nov. 19, 1936, in Brown County, Don was a son of Oliver V. and Margaret Stinebaker Durbin. He married Joann Conners on Feb. 3, 1956, in Quincy. She survives.

Don was a life member of the NRA and a member of Teamsters Local Union No. 21 and 688. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was the time he shared with his family.

Don was employed as a truck driver for 37 years, driving for C.L. Connors Trucking Service, Meinhardt Cartage Co. and Nussbaum Trucking Inc. until his retirement in November 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Durbin Jr. of Quincy and Steven Durbin (Ann) of Bath, N.Y.; a daughter, Shelly Holtman (James) of Quincy; five grandchildren, Joshua Holtman, Jeremy Holtman (Christa), Trey Durbin, Holly Durbin and Caley Durbin, all of Quincy; a great-grandson, D.J. Durbin; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Kimberly Durbin; and a sister, Mary Greiwe.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. graveside services Friday, July 13, in Greenmount Cemetery with Pastor Martin Eden conducting.

VISITATION: There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside service.
