Dorothy B. "Irish" Russell, 67, of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Quincy, died Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2013) in her home. Born Jan. 5, 1946, in Quincy, Irish was a daughter of Margaret Josephine Weichman Rosenkoetter and the late Richard Henry Rosenkoetter. She married Tim Russell on Feb. 14, 1969, in Quincy. A 1964 graduate of Quincy High School, she received degrees in Christian ministry from Rhema Bible College and Columbia Bible College. She was an active member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church and involved herself in ministry to those who wanted to know and experience the presence of the glory of the Blessed Trinity in their lives. Irish would like to thank all those who were there for her while she battled cancer for several years. Thank you and to God be the glory. In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Kary Groom of Henderson, Texas; stepson, Shawn Russell of Elgin; three grandchildren, Justin Groom and his wife, Amanda, of Canton, Ohio, Daniel Groom of Burleson, Texas, and Kiera Groom of Henderson, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Allie Groom of Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Justin and Amanda. SERVICES: 2 p.m. Sunday in Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, Columbia, S.C., to celebrate and to give God the glory for her salvation and the great adventure she enjoyed while following Him.
