Dorothy T. Havermale, 88, formerly of 517 Adams, died at 11:22 p.m. Wednesday (April 17, 2013) in the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Quincy, a daughter of Henry B. and Elizabeth (Klauser) Maas. She was the last of their 13 children. Mrs. Havermale married Victor T. Havermale on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1944, in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He died June 13, 1999.

Mrs. Havermale worked at the Defense Plant in Little Rock, Ark., during World War II when her husband was stationed there while serving in the U.S. Army.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. After her husband's retirement, they enjoyed traveling and camping. Mrs. Havermale was devoted to her family her whole life.

Survivors include her five daughters, Connie (Johny) Miller of Durham, Mo., Janet (Danny) Wolf and Carol (Rick) Bridal, all of Quincy, Vicky (Lee) Hanlin of Monroe City, Mo., and Kathy (Bruce) Albright of Quincy; two sons, Steve (Angie) Havermale of Quincy and Jerry (Debbie) Havermale of Payson; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Price, Florence Havermale, Katherine Maas and Betty Maas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Havermale was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; five sisters, Marie Wand, Alvera Bangert, Ludvina Inman, Frieda Westhaus, and Laura Simons; and seven brothers, Bill, Ed, Andrew, Leo, Ralph, Maurice and Henry Maas , Jr.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home with a parish prayer service at 4 p.m.
