Ella Mary Marie Andrews, 59, of 612 Payson Ave., Quincy, died at 6:55 p.m. Monday (Aug. 18, 2014) in her home. Ella was born Jan. 22, 1955, in Quincy, the daughter of Clarence Alan and Elsie Marie Shouse O'Neal. She married Michael Edward Andrews on July 30, 2005, in Deltona, Fla. He survives. Ella was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City College, where she studied to be a medical assistant. She also completed additional medical coursework in X-ray and laboratory technology. Ella worked as an assistant for several physicians, including Dr. Gene Childress in Lewistown, Mo., Dr. Velloff of Orange City, Fla., and Dr. Feldman in Deland, Fla. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, baking and crocheting. In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Shannon (Michael) Smith of Quincy; her son, Shown (Jackie) Schlueter of Moberly, Mo.; a stepson, Michael Anthony Andrews of Quincy; her mother, Elsie Marie O'Neal of Orange City; two sisters, Melody (Gary) Nichols of Quincy and Lisa (Cliff) Cassidy of Deltona; her brother, John Burton of Quincy; two nieces, Jessica and Amber of Deltona; two nephews, Sam of Deltona, and Alex (Jessica) of Quincy; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Pamela Thomas. SERVICES: A private memorial service was held in her home. MEMORIALS: Quincy Humane Society or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
