MENDON, Ill. -- Helen M. Barry, 70, of the North Adams Home in Mendon, died Tuesday (July 30, 2013) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on July 21, 1943, in Quincy, the daughter of Charles F. and Freda Bentley Fisher. She married Ron Barry on Feb. 27, 1972. He preceded her in death. Helen was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She liked to play her piano and listen to Christian music. Helen's greatest enjoyment was her family. She always had a smile when she saw her â€˜"grandbabies". Helen is survived by five children, Vicki Cannell and her husband, Brent, of Mendon, Becky Shank and her husband, John, of Mount Sterling, Tina Shank and her husband, Dave, of Mendon, Daniel Barry and his wife, Rose, of Quincy and Dave Barry of Payson; eight grandchildren, Ken Shannon, Cody Shannon and his wife, Tiffany, Jason Shank and his wife, Sandy, Karissa Blackwell and her husband, Rick, Kendra Cole and her husband, Michael, David "Jr." Shank, Elizabeth Shank and David "Davey" Barry; two stepgrandchildren, Daniel Cannell and Daron Cannell and his wife, Amy; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Fisher and Gary Fisher and his wife, Diane; two sisters, Betty Hessling and her husband, Tom, and Carolyn Hamann and her husband, Steve; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leta Cook. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, Quincy. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy.
