Irene L. Brinkoetter, 98, formerly of Payson and Indianapolis, Ind., died Saturday (Dec. 7, 2013). She was born June 26, 1915, in Payson to the late John William and Amelia Speckhart Loos. Irene married Donald A. Brinkoetter on Nov. 23, 1939, in Payson. He died April 17, 2002. Irene was a member of Garfield Park United Church of Christ since 1949 and Southport Chapter No. 442 Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years, serving as worthy matron in 1972. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Kinder of Indianapolis and Donna (Layton "Bud") Tackett of Nashville, Tenn.; sons, Gary (Janis) Brinkoetter of Indianapolis and Steve (Emy) Brinkoetter of West Covina, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, Indianapolis.
