Irene L. Gottman Obituary
TAYLOR, Mo. -- Irene L. Gottman, 90, of Taylor, the youngest daughter of Severt and Josephine Steen Uglum, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (May 7, 2013), passing away in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill.

Irene was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Stoughton, Wis. She married Charles M. Gottman on March 4, 1961, in Palmyra. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Gottman was a devoted farm wife who enjoyed embroidery and crocheting. She worked many years at Hutch's Truck Stop in Palmyra. She was a beautifully patient woman who loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Irene was a wonderful mother to seven children, Betty (Paul) White of Palmyra, Gloria (Dean) Drebes of Palmyra, Donald (Kay) Daniel of Phoenix, twins, John (Denise) Daniel of Liberty, Mo., and Jim (Cecelia) Daniel of Cincinnati, Rick (Susan) Gottman of Palmyra and Kevin (Dr. Gayle) Gottman of Quincy; 29 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her nine siblings.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church, Palmyra, with the Rev. David Johnson conducting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Palmyra.

Casket Bearers will be Ed Drebes, Mike White, Mark Daniel, Nathan Gottman, Kalen Gottman and Isaac Gottman. Honorary bearers will be Irene's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra.

MEMORIALS: Zion Lutheran Church.
