John R. Kretzer Obituary
John R. Kretzer, 74, of Quincy, formerly of Mendon and Daytona Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Blessing Hospital.

John was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Quincy to the late August and Della (Tenvorde) Kretzer.

John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanic with NASCAR, worked in construction and was a commissioner on the board of the Florida Housing Authority while living in Daytona Beach.

Surviving are one brother, Bill (Sandra) Kretzer of Fowler; one niece, Lorie (Greg) Graham of Liberty; two nephews, Dan (Cindy) Kretzer and Donald (Pam) Kretzer; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicole (Brandon) Victor and their child, Braylon, Michael (Jessie) Kretzer and their children, Savannah and Calahan, Beth (BJ) Donaldson and their child, Liam, Kelly (Adam) Weiman and their children, Taylor, Nathan and Josh, Kristen (Jeff) Lay and their children, Kinley, Jackson and Kody Graham; cousins, Anne (Harry) Swarts and Mary (Tom) McCoy.

He was preceded in death by a great-nephew, Logan Graham, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fowler, with the Rev. Dixie Croxton conducting. A private family burial will be at a later date in Home Cemetery near Fowler.

VISITATION: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

MEMORIALS: Home Cemetery or St. Paul United Church of Christ.
