June Leota Scott Obituary
QUINCY -- June Leota Scott, 81, a devoted wife and mother, caring "granny," amazing friend and sister, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Blessing Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She will be sorely missed.

Born June 12, 1936, in LaGrange, Mo., to the late Lenvil and Emmalee Calsaw Lewis, June was one of eight children, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie Humphrey (born Lewis) and Frieda Lewis; and three brothers, Milton Lewis, Richard "Buck" Lewis and Wilford "Charlie" Lewis.

June enjoyed camping, fishing, singing and spending time with her family. She loved watching westerns on TV.

June was also preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, George Scott, whom she married April 26, 1952. Their union of 50 years was blessed with 13 beautiful children, which she leaves to cherish her memory, Mrs. Debbie Smith (John) of Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Bobbie Bright of Keokuk, Iowa, Mr. George Scott (Adrienne) of Quincy, Ms. Kim Scott of Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Mark Scott of Quincy, Mr. Torry Scott of Quincy, Mr. Deven Scott (Veronica) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. Todd Scott (Heike) of Quincy, Mr. Curt Scott (Bonita) of Keokuk, Mr. Alex Scott (Suzanne) of Normal, Mr. Cory Scott of Quincy, Mrs. Bridget Miller (Jeffrey) of Quincy and Mrs. Tyra Scott (Lucius) of Quincy.

Survivors also include one sister, Cleo Robinson (born Lewis) of Quincy; one brother, Wayne Lewis, of LaGrange; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and one great-great-grandchild.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, conducted by minister John C. Smith. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. A repast will follow burial at Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home.
