Lelon "Bud" Brush, 87, of 915 Cherry, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 23, 2012) at in Blessing Hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Cuba, Ill., the son of Jesse and Wilma McWhorter Keen Brush. On Nov. 5, 1948 he married Helen Harness in Palmyra, Mo. She survives. Bud attended schools in Canton (Ill.) and served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Adair in the Pacific during World War II. Bud was a plumber/engineer for the state of Illinois. He was a member of Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 766 in Bradley. Survivors also include three children, Duane (Nora) Brush of Grandview, Mo., Larry (Jane) Brush of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Carol (Ed) Lind of Bloomington; grandchildren, Adrian Brush of Edinburg, Texas, Darren (Chrissy) Brush of Indianapolis, Lorne (Melissa) Brush of New Market, Ind., David (Alicia) Brush of Gardner, Kan., Libby (Jason) Barna of Bloomington, and Johanna (Etienne) Nation-Vallee of Conway, N.H.; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bud was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Brush, Virgene Cardot, Yvonne Williams, Roger Brush, Mary Louise Brush, and Wanda Jones. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday in the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Wayne LaForce officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
