Lester J. Brink, 84, of Fairview Heights, born Feb. 8, 1929, in Quincy, died Monday (May 6, 2013) in Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Lester was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Quincy. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a former member of St. Albert the Great Church. Lester worked for Local No. 309 in Collinsville. He loved painting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by six children, David J. (Robyn) Brink of Okawville, Dean M. Brink of Millstadt, Tom A. (Cheryl) Brink of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Anthony J. (Kathy) Brink of Troy, Diane L. Brink of O'Fallon and Mary Ann (Larry) Hagen of Troy; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Brink of Fairview Heights; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R., nee Garland, Brink; two sons, Douglas R. and John A. Brink; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte M. Brink; his parents, Joseph and Helen, nee Bockhold, Brink; and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Brink. SERVICES: Funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, with the Rev. Ray Schultz conducting. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights.
