AUGUSTA, Ill. - Lila Lee Wells, 83, of the Golden Good Shepherd Home, Golden, formerly of Augusta, died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 16, 2013) in the home.

She was born Aug. 15, 1929, near Plymouth, a daughter to Charles and Maida Roudebush Burton. She married Russell B. "Fuzzy" Wells on Feb. 14, 1948, in Macomb. He died Oct. 30, 2000.
Lila was a retired employee of Western Illinois University in Macomb. In her younger years she had worked at Rogers Store and Dennis Chicken Products in Augusta.
She attended Monkey Hill School near Plymouth and Plymouth High School. Lila was a longtime member of the Augusta VFW Post 9029 Auxiliary and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Wells and Dennis (Pam) Wells, of Augusta; a granddaughter, Michelle Leann Wells of Augusta; a stepson, Shane Sargent of Rushville; a step great-granddaughter, Emily Sargent; two brothers, Dick (Janet) Burton of Augusta and Loyd (Jean) Burton of Colchester; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Burton of Plymouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Wayland; and two brothers, Lyle and Bill Burton.
SERVICES: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn cemetery, Augusta, conducted by Pastor Jerry Taylor
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hamilton Funeral Home, Augusta.
MEMORIALS: Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Golden Good Shepherd Home
