Monty L. Powell Obituary
CAMP POINT, Ill. -- Monty L. Powell, 75, of Camp Point, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at his home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Quincy, a son of Edward and Naomi (Hinshide) Powell.

Monty was a second generation dairy and grain farmer. He felt blessed to be able to farm with his own son. He enjoyed driving his blue tractor and his Gator on his land. Without doubt, Monty was a hard working man. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed visiting with his family, neighbors and friends. He liked watching his grandkids play ball and their other activities and knew that when they were around there was "never a dull moment."

He is survived by two children, Traci Graham and her husband, Brad, of Camp Point and Matthew T. Powell, also of Camp Point; six grandchildren, Lanessa Wentura and her husband, Nicholas, Jackilyn Graham and Evan Graham, Kaleigh Powell, Eli Powell and Jace Winn; and two siblings, Linda Spencer and Dennis Powell and his wife, Deborah. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Powell.
