PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- Norma Ilene Betts Jennings, 85, of Pittsfield, was taken home to glory by her loving and faithful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday (June 9, 2013).

Norma was born in Rockport on Jan. 16, 1928, a daughter of William and Pearl McGlauchlen Betts. She married Arvis Jennings on Oct. 18, 1944, in Bowling Green, Mo.

Norma graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and made great chicken and noodles. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pittsfield where she was active in Children's Church Ministry. Norma's church and family were her passion and delight. She will be remembered for her creative church stage sets, Christmas displays and children church work. She tirelessly worked to put a special touch on everything. Her family will miss her nutty sense of humor and never ending admonishments in love and concern.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Connie (Pat) Gresham of Pittsfield, Dennis (Terry) Jennings of Pittsfield, Rhonda (Steve) Jenkins of Springfield, Mo., Randy (Kay) Jennings of Pittsfield and Angela (Lance) DeGroot of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Zimmer of Jacksonville and Geneva (Crader) Conner of Renoldsburg, Ohio; a brother, Clark Betts of Quincy; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
