Pamela Agnew Obituary

HAMILTON, Ill. -- Pamela Ann "Pam" Agnew, 56, of Hamilton, died at 7:36 p.m. Wednesday (June 1, 2011) in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa.

She was born on Oct. 3,1954, in Macon, Mo., a daughter of Fred and Barbara Robinson Yakle. She married Jack Agnew on May 1, 1977, at the First Christian Church, Hamilton. He survives in Hamilton.

Pam graduated from Unity High School in Mendon, with the Class of 1972. She was of the Christian faith. She had worked at Methode in Carthage for several years.

Pam enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling and keeping in touch with friends and family on Facebook. She was fond of all animals and especially loved her cat, Baby. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

Most importantly, Pam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She cared deeply for others and was a good listener. Her beautiful smile and bright eyes would light up a room. Pam continued to give to others as an organ donor.

In addition to her husband, Pam is survived by siblings, Sandra K. Schneider of Quincy, Gary (Jeannine) Yakle of Cape Corral, Fla.,Terry (Theresa) Yakle of Quincy, and Sally (Paul) Stout of Urbendale, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Betty and John Hymes of Hamilton, Jean and Jim Richardson of Hamilton, Rosalie and Raymond Bruns of Hamilton, Ala., Patricia and Leslie Parish of Murray, Ky.; brothers-in-law, Ray Agnew of Bremerton, Wash., Kenny Agnew of Fort Madison, Iowa, Leroy and Sherry Agnew of Hamilton, and Bob and Sherry McVeigh of Carthage; a daughter-in-law Lisa, Eaton Agnew of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a granddaughter, Kelsey Hayes of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Chadwick (Katie) Schneider of Phoenix, Ariz.

Pam was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Agnew; her parents; and a sister-in-law, Karen Agnew.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, with Brother Bill Hauser conducting.

VISITATION: 2 to 8 p.m. Monday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home, Hamilton.

MEMORIALS: Have been established in memory of Pamela A. Agnew.

ARRANGEMENTS: Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home, Hamilton.
