Patricia Ann Yates Obituary
Patricia Ann Yates, 85, of North Adams Nursing Home in Mendon, formerly of Quincy, died Sunday (Feb. 10, 2013).

Patricia was born March 23, 1927, in Quincy, a daughter to the late William J. and Vera Stratman Eggeson. She married Henry E. Yates on Feb. 26, 1950, in Quincy. He died Oct. 19, 1984.

She was a member of the Columbus Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed sports of any kind to watch on TV and spending time with her deaf friends.

Patricia graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf and worked at Quincy Speaker, J.L. Miller and retired from Quincy Paper Box. She was a lifetime member of the Quincy Deaf Club.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Tammara (Brent) McKenzie Retheford of Cambridge, Scott McKenzie of Muscatine, Iowa, Adam (Stephanie) Yates and Tiffany Yates, all of Quincy; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mary L. Wilson of Windermere, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Yates of Quincy; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and caregiver, Peggy (Terry) Homan of Ursa; and her lifelong best friend, Dorothy Kramer of Ursa and Costa Mesa, Calif.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two children, a daughter, Pamela A. Yates (McKenzie) Sphrit, and son, Howard W. Yates; and a brother-in-law, Dale Wilson.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, with Pastor Bob Cowman conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home

MEMORIALS: Quincy Deaf Club.
